Our commitment to environmentally-preferable products and programs began more than a hundred years ago when the company developed
a process to recycle cork scrap. The end result was a product which was introduced then and is known today, as linoleum.
Throughout the years, in North America and now worldwide, our quality and process driven culture are seeds by which we continue
to innovate environmentally-responsible ceiling and wall systems, practices and products. A few examples:
- Armstrong Ceiling contain up to 82% recycled content; We have the broadest portfolio of ceilings with high recycled content.
- Armstrong suspension systems contain 30% recycled content – the highest percentage of post consumer content in the industry.
- We’ve recycled more than 60 million sq.ft. of old ceiling material since 1999 through the Armstrong Ceiling Recycling Program – a first-of-its-kind industry program.
Armstrong Ceilings is proud of our heritage and the growing portfolio of ceiling and wall products and programs developed in support of sustainable design and the built environment. It is our
goal in all areas of our business to continually reduce our environmental footprint.
